Description

Our signature blend of dehydrated Sofrito is salt-free and can be used to as a dry rub to marinate meats, added in rice, beans, and stews to enhance the flavor of your foods. Sofrito has been used in traditional Puerto Rican foods for decades, and most Puerto Ricans, can’t cook without it. All our seasonings are made with pure all natural spices. They have no artificial colors or ingredients, no MSG, are NON-GMO, Vegan, and Gluten-Free.

I created this blend in order to provide and alternative to fresh sofrito (which isn’t always easily accessible). I call it “el sofrito que resuelve”, the sofrito that is here to help when we are on the run, can’t make our own fresh sofrito, or don’t use it on a regular basis. This is a shelf safe blend that can be re-hydrated with water and used in your favorite recipes.

Just pure flavor “SABOR”, and made with lots of love.

Ingredients:

Sofrito Seco (5 oz net wt)- Dehydrated garlic, onion, cilantro, green and red bell peppers, with a coriander, turmeric, oregano and parsley spice blend.

    AMAZING STUFF. I use it in/on EVERYTHING! From eggs n toast for breakfast, to season ramen for a quick lunch and in my dinner veggies/‘meat seasoning for dinner. Makes great ‘garlic bread’ etc etc etc.rehydrated or straight up sprinkled on… I mix it with smoked maldon salt for use in steaks n pork.. never ending uses!

    I love your dry sofrito as a rub. How do I hydrate your dry sifrito though? What is the sofrito to water/oil ratio? Not sure what you recommend water or oil.

    Hey Marylin, I’m glad to hear you love our dry sofrito. To use hydrated, I recommend to use water. Oil can also be used, but it changes the flavor a bit. The ratio would be approximately 2 tablespoons of the dry sofrito with 1/4 cup of water. Mix well and allow to sit for a few minutes. You’ll notice the sofrito will absorb the water. Then you can use as you would fresh sofrito. Try it and let me know what you think. 🙂

    i purchased 4 large sofrito and I make my own but this comes in handy especially if the one you made is frozen. Even my husband loves it. He used it for additional flicirs to his homemade hearty chilly and it was delicious. I use it for everything and this is by far my favorite. This is an excellent product for ghose that have not tried it. I high recommend it. How about making the yellow coloring for the rice. I absolutely live this product since I cook with kosher salt in small amounts due to health conditions. Flavors are always better than sodium.

    I am the only one out of 13 daughters and 9 sons who speaks no Spanish and am just learning to cook our food. This has made me so proud and happy that my husband only eats fresh foods seasoned with fresh and healthy seasonings from made by you. Thank you so very much because I was about to have a stroke and his blood pressure was increasing. I am thanks to your spices and my restriction of salt in our food almost off 100% of medicine!!! Going vegan with good spices is soooo important. Who wants to eat beans let’s say that taste like the mud of the earth? If there’s no flavor, people sadly go back to eating the mostly salt-laden products and they feel like a failure as their health fails.
    You really need to advertise in the Self magazine and not just Hispanic media. There are a lot of us mixed Ricans who relish flavor in our food too! My stepmother can burn in the kitchen because my Papi taught her what the seasonings of the islands would do for her southern cooking.
